In-Kind Donations
We occasionally accept in-kind donations of goods and services. Please contact the Development office at (914)937-2320, ext. 116.
Honorary or Memorial Gift
Choose to acknowledge a special person or commemorate a loved one. Celebrate a special milestone or the accomplishments of a friend or family member. Give a gift that give to others. A memorial gift remembers a loved one and leaves a legacy.
When you make a memorial or tribute gift, Family Services of Westchester sends an acknowledgement card to the honoree or family of the honoree, in addition to sending you an acknowledgement.
ll gifts to Family Services are tax deductible and Family Services will not sell or exchange our donors’ names
Matching Gift
Many companies sponsor matching gift programs that can double or triple the impact of your gift. Please check with your employer to see if your company has such a program. Ask your employer to find out how your company’s matching gift program works.
Contribution by Stock Transfer
The donation of appreciated stock to Family Services of Westchester, Inc. can be achieved in several ways.
1. If the donor is holding the stock certificates, the procedure is the following:
Send the stock certificate to:
TD Ameritrade

Attn: William J Ostruzka
Send a signed Stock and bond powers form, completed and signed exactly as the name appears on the stock certificate.
Include a Letter of Authorization that includes how many shares are to be gifted to Family Services of Westchester:
Account #:757330771 Reserve Fund Account
2. If there are no physical certificates of the certificates are being held by a clearing house other than TD Ameritrade, The following steps need to be taken
A letter of authorization needs to be sent to the owner’s brokerage house stating the following:
- The stock name and number of shares to be donated to the Family Services of Westchester, Inc., Account#:757330771 Reserve Fund Account
- Include the DTC # 0188
- Then contact Justin Norval at TD Ameritrade to inform him of the pending transfer (203)325-5286
3. If TD Ameritrade is holding the certificates, simply a letter of instruction is required, requesting the name of the stock and number of shares to be transferred from donor’s account to the Family Services of Westchester, Inc., Account, #757330771 Reserve Fund Account.

United Way Gifts/Combined Federal Campaigns
Many corporations and government agencies participate in United Way Employee Giving Programs and Combined Federal Campaigns, which allow you to direct your donation towards Family Services of Westchester.

Is my gift tax deductible?
All gifts to Family Services of Westchester are fully tax-deductible, as long as no goods or services are supplied in exchange. If you have a question about whether or not a gift, such as an in-kind gift, is tax deductible, please contact the Development Office at 914 937-2320, ext. 116

Can I direct a gift towards a particular program or giving interest?
Yes, you can designate your gift to any one of our programs, or leave it as unrestricted, which allows us to fill the gaps where needed.
What percentage of my gift goes towards direct services?

Can I make a gift over a period of time?
Yes, you may make an annual or multi-year pledge and pay in monthly, quarterly or semi-annual installments. Your gift may be charged automatically or we will be happy to send you reminders.
Are there ways to give other than monetarily?
There are many ways to give other than monetarily. Volunteer hours help us keep our costs low, and enhance what we can offer the community. In-kind goods and services are equally valued, and will be recognized.
